What It Is
Our Impact
How It Works
The Sierra Leone Nationals Association of Manitoba (SALNAM) is a Black-led, nonprofit organization founded in 1980 by Sierra Leonean newcomers in Winnipeg.
SALNAM builds community through cultural preservation, newcomer support, and empowerment programs. We provide a welcoming space for Sierra Leoneans to connect, celebrate their heritage, and thrive in Canada.
We offer youth leadership development, training for single mothers, and advocacy for new immigrants. By addressing both cultural and practical needs, SALNAM helps community members integrate into Canadian society while ensuring Sierra Leonean traditions remain visible and valued across generations.
